I am a London-based freelance composer and arranger, having recently completed my postgraduate degree in composition at Trinity Laban, one of the world's most vibrant and adventurous conservatoires.

An accomplished all-round musician with a strong classical upbringing, I bring professional experience as a performer to create bespoke compositions and arrangements for instrumental and vocal performers. My style ranges from experimental classical, to traditional choral, and contemporary pop, and in 2019 my carol was heard several times on BBC Radio 3, as a finalist in the BBC Radio 3 Breakfast Christmas Carol Competition.

My musical life began as a chorister at Leicester Cathedral, before studying music at King's College London, where I sang as a choral scholar in the esteemed chapel choir and studied cello at the Royal Academy of Music. I formed my string quartet who performed many of my arrangements at functions and events.

After graduating with a first class honours degree (majoring in composition), I worked freelance for a year, kickstarting a professional career as a singer (including a choral scholarship at St Martin-in-the-Fields), pianist, and cellist. When not writing music, I can often be found performing in services, concerts, and theatre shows. I also enjoy accompanying children's music classes and ABRSM exams, and have been teaching piano and cello privately to children and adults for several years now.

In 2020 I graduated from my postgraduate composition degree at Trinity Laban, during which time I have studied with Errollyn Wallen CBE, and John Ashton Thomas. I've written for numerous ensembles, soloists, and choirs, student and professional. My largest scale work, Folclórico (intended to premiere in June 2020), is a dynamic Latin American-inspired 35-minute work for choir and orchestra, creating and rewriting music for  hispanic folktales and folksongs.

"As well as being a very reliable singer and a first-class sight-reader, Dom has a real ability as a music arranger and composer. He has that rare skill of reading a brief, sticking to it, and yet providing a piece of music that is more than just the notes on the page - something that really engages the choir as much as it does the audience."
